CCTV Drain Surveys

Because drains are normally below ground level and out of sight, the exact cause and extent of the problem may not be obviously apparent.

Why we use CCTV to survey?

Over time and use, your drains and sewers integrity can deteriorate and you won’t know this until you have a blocked drain.

It could take many years or perhaps in some cases a relatively short period of time, your drains efficiency could be compromised as a result of many factors.

Common reasons for drainage problems are ground movement, poor construction techniques, tree roots etc.

The Blocked Drain Company uses CCTV to survey and investigate a drain’s condition for the following reasons:

Problem Solving –

Sometimes, nothing less than a visual assessment of the offending pipe will sort the drainage problem out.

On these occasions, CCTV cameras are sent down the drain to provide both our engineer (and you if you want to) with a full insight of the drainage condition on a television screen installed on all of our vehicles.

CCTV surveys of drains, pipes, and sewers provide our engineer and yourself with an accurate assessment and therefore the most cost effective way to repair the drainage problems.

Drain Blockage Prevention –

If problems with drains are to be avoided, CCTV allows us to identify potential blockages and faults before they really do become a problem.

Our engineers can advise and show you on the CCTV system where potential trouble spots are in your drainage system and what to avoid getting washed or flushed away.

By just following the engineers advice you can prevent further blockages or drainage issues arising again.

Property Pre-Purchase Surveys –

In recent years our pre-purchase property surveys have become a very popular service.

With so many homes and properties having had extensions, driveways, and other modifications etc in the last few decades, property surveyors have been taking a closer look (often with our CCTV systems) at what changes or effects the building works have had to the drainage.

In a full property survey, property surveyors need to ensure that their professional opinions are supported by facts , and therefore the Blocked Drain Company are often called in to survey with CCTV properties that have had work carried out that may have affected the drainage.

Rectifying structurally defective drains can be expensive so, if buying a property, think about having a CCTV inspection to establish their condition as part of a pre-purchase survey.

We provide the CCTV images that we record onto a DVD.

Not exactly a great night in of family viewing we agree, but it is a very cost effective way to get piece of mind on your potential new purchase.
