Section Lining Drain Repairs
This method of drainage repairing is part of our ‘No Dig’ technology solutions.
A ‘No-Dig’ repair solution allows us to repair a damaged area of underground or in-accessible pipe without the disruption of digging or excavation.
Think of it as the key-hole surgery of the drainage world!
If after a CCTV survey, it is deemed as a viable method of repairing your damaged drain pipe, using the manhole drain cover access point we send down a remote control robot fitted with a camera to repair the damage to the drain pipe.
How does Section Lining work?
If a drain is damaged lengthways, the whole section can be lined using a lining ‘sock’ impregnated with a polyester resin fibre.
The sock is inserted into the drain along the length of the damaged area where it is then formed into place using either air or water pressure moulding the sock to the internal wall of the damaged pipe and left to cure.
This type of repair is in effect a new fibre reinforced section of pipe within the old damaged drain causing little or no disruption at a much lower cost than excavation.
The repair is resistant to leaks and has a minimal effect on the internal diameter of the pipe so will not impair or cause loss of flow in the future.
